Scientists think they have discovered a way to "recreate" the Big Bang. See this article: CERN fires up new atom smasher to near Big Bang . This seems to beg the question who created the big bang originally?
"The multibillion-dollar Large Hadron Collider will explore the tiniest particles and come ever closer to re-enacting the big bang, the theory that a colossal explosion created the universe."
Explosion of what? Where did the "what" come from? I wonder, will there be any creation scientists included in the observation of this experiment, or will their voices be silenced as usual.
"That [the particle soup created by the explosion] will enable scientists to look for still missing pieces to the puzzle — or lead to the formulation of a new theory on the makeup of matter."
How many different theories do we need? It seems like when Someone who was there when it happened (and actually made it happen) tells you this is how it is, and you know that Someone never lies, then you don't need to formulate too many theories.
Some "skeptics" are predicting that the collision of particles in this tunnel could create micro black holes and spell doomsday for Earth as we know it. I don't know about doomsday. I guess we'll leave that in God's hands. There really isn't any other place for it, after all.
But I do know what has happened in the past when men have tried to play God. "Let us build...a tower whose top may reach unto heaven."
I am also reminded of Babel when I note that at least 22 nations (20 from Europe, the USA, and Japan) are involved in this operation. "Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do."
Next, we'll be trying to create our own Earth that we can populate and control on our own. Then we (the scientists) will be god. "For the Hideous Strength confronts us and it is as in the days when Nimrod built a tower to reach heaven....They [have] broken by natural philosophy the barrier which God of His own power would not break....The Hideous Strength holds all this Earth in its fist to squeeze as it wishes....If of their own evil will they had not broken the frontier and let in the celestial Powers, this would be their moment of victory. Their own strength has betrayed them. They have gone to the gods who would not have come to them, and pulled down Deep Heaven on their heads." (C. S. Lewis, That Hideous Strength)
The fact remains: our God is a jealous God. He will not allow Sin to play God forever. One day they will pull down Deep Heaven on their heads, and on ours too, most likely. But in that day, I hope to stand unashamed in the power of Christ before the greatest Power of Deep Heaven, while they cry out for the rocks to fall on them.
